  1. FreeBSD is an Operating System, Linux is a kernel.
  2. FreeBSD is UNIX, Linux is UNIX-like.
  3. FreeBSD (or even all *BSD combined +distant family: OpenSolaris) is much less popular than Linux.
  4. FreeBSD governed by a democratic structure/body, Linux (also OpenBSD) represents the fascist model.
  5. FreeBSD's source-code helps improving all other OS (including Linux).
    All other OS (including FreeBSD) will have to improve their source-code to support Linux.
  6. FreeBSD community building groups, Linux community make crowds.
  7. Both FreeBSD and Linux are free.
    It just that FreeBSD's license retained the copyright notice for himself and
    Linux's license retained the meaning of free for herself.
    Part 2 - Linux vs FreeBSD Users
  1. Linux users considering themselves more cool (or funky) than Windows users.
    FreeBSD users considering themselves more compentent than Linux users.
  2. Most of Linux users are newbie in UNIX, came from (anything but) Windows camp,
    most of FreeBSD users are UNIX sysadmin, once had a bitter experiences with other OS (mainly performance and/or stability issues, $ or copycrap).
  3. Typical Linux users usually have never been using FreeBSD,
    typical FreeBSD users usually also use Linux on occasions (and several other OS'es too, when they have to).
  4. A skilled Linux users will be able to run many different distros.
    A skilled FreeBSD users are capable to decide what OS for what need.
  5. Linux users more easy to find a good technical support, FreeBSD users: you ARE the technical support.
  6. 30 millions superior quantity of Linux's user base makes FreeBSD users envy.
    30 years superior quality of FreeBSD's code base makes Linux users envy.
  7. Linux users' favorite db is MySQL. FreeBSD users' favorite db is PostgreSQL.
  8. Linux users programming language is Visual-Basic or Python, a few C++, never done C.
    FreeBSD users programming language is C or C++, a few Python, never done VB.
  9. A decent Linux user will proudly say that Linux is da best OS.
    A decent FreeBSD user will (be trying hard to) humbly say that both Linux and FreeBSD (or any of *BSD or OpenSolaris) are all good choices, depend on your needs and preferences.
  10. An adept Linux user may become a FreeBSD user one day.
    An adept FreeBSD user hardly ever became (back as) a Linux admin in anyway
    A FreeBSD expert will freely switched between any OS he likes.
    Part 3 - FreeBSD vs Linux Users
  1. An average FreeBSD user knows much better about Linux than the average Linux users did with herself.
  2. All FreeBSD users are proud of their OS,
    most of Linux users are still confused to choose an alternative OS (or worse: distro).
  3. A typical FreeBSD users usually know their OS heritage.
    A typical Linux users usually do not even know that Linux is just a kernel.
  4. The most preferred major Linux distro for FreeBSD users is Slackware.
    The least preferred major distro for Linux users is Slackware.
  5. A proficient FreeBSD user may behave as a Linux expert without being noticed (been there afterall).
    A Linux expert can never be impostering as a FreeBSD user without being catched.
  6. Only a few FreeBSD users that actually, really a- stupid; and vice versa.
    May be it because of Linux community is much larger than FreeBSD's.
    It may be not, however.
  7. FreeBSD users usually ask a smarter question and reply with a better answer.
    (NetBSD'er will ask the foolish question yet reply with the best answers).
    (OpenBSD'er will ask the smartest question but refused to give any reply for some security reasons).
    Linux users? er.. don't ask.

  9. FreeBSD enthusiasts are equally (or even more) productive without X (if ever using it),
    Linux enthusiasts usually more destructive without X (with a handy kits collection).

  11. FreeBSD users claimed to have a better senses of humor than Linux users;
    Now that a bad taste of humor; despite of a fact.
    Part 4 - Trivia
  1. PostgreSQL vs MySQL is as comparable as FreeBSD vs Linux
    PostgreSQL is one of FreeBSD outcomes but runs better under Linux box
    MySQL is a Linux product but runs best on FreeBSD server (well, not that ISAM thing)
  2. FreeBSD fanatics believes that their OS are better, but they can not proofed it
    Linux fanatics provide a proof that their OS are better, but no one believed it
  3. FreeBSD fanatics are geeks. Linux fanatics are kids.
    Both usually are poors, unhealthy, schizophrenic megalomaniac morons
    Linuxer even had their own reflective synagoge called: mhoronix.
  4. Actually, there's A LOT of quantitative things that Linux is best or better at
    (none of them are really that matters, though).
  5. Actually, there's only A FEW qualitative things that FreeBSD is best or better at
    (including those quality of "best" and "better" themselves).
